Bio:
Hailing from the deep woods of New England by way of Berkeley, California, Akira Thompson has been working professionally in the computer graphics industry in NYC for over a decade. He received a bachelor's degree in Studio Arts from Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs, NY and went on to study Computer Art at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he received a Master's of Fine Arts degree. Working for companies of all shapes and sizes from boutique motion design shops to high end VFX powerhouse Framestore (Design Director) gave Akira the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects for film, television, live events, interactive and AR/VR/MR. He prides himself on being a jack of all trades, working in 3D and 2D across a range of mediums and styles.
Most recently, he has become enthralled by the emerging technology known as Generative AI. For last 2 years he has done an extensive deep dive into this new tech with the goal of integrating and developing it into new workflows to create content at speed, at scale and in ways never before possible.
He currently holds the title Creative Director, AI Creative Lead, US position at global digital design agency R/GA in the New York City headquarters.
